Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is part of a worldwide Guiding movement. As Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK.

We give girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. Central Glamorgan stretches from Merthyr in the North to Porthcawl in the South; a diverse mixture of towns, valleys and rural areas.

DIVISIONS

Districts may be grouped into Divisions led by a Division Team. Division Teams
are encouraged to work together to meet and encourage Good Guiding within a given area and provide strategic support to the County Commissioner. Most Division Teams are led by a Division Commissioner.
The Division Commissioner will attend County Executive meetings to represent the views of members within the Division and to be able to pass on relevant information to members of the Division and District.

UNITS

‘Unit’ is the name given to a group of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Senior Section members and their Leaders. Each unit is registered with Girlguiding UK and receives a registration certificate in the name of the unit.

DIVISION COMMISSIONERS

This committee promotes the opportunities available for all members, ensuring two-way communication between all levels of guiding in the local area. In addition, the Division Commissioners support the County Commissioner and contribute to good governance within the County as Trustees. Central Glamorgan has 11 Division Commissioners including job shares, in our County

We are in a community near to you, encouraging girls and young women to enjoy life and encouraging them to be confident in their life choices.
