A Warm Welcome to Central Glamorgan's Girlguiding Website...
Central Glamorgan stretches from Merthyr in the North to Porthcawl in the South; a diverse mixture of towns, valleys and rural areas. We have 2088 girl members, 144 volunteers and 141 units (34 Rainbow units, 61 Brownie units, 30 Guide units and 16 Rangers units). We are very proud of the range of opportunities offered to our young members and adults.
As a County, we are blessed with lots of volunteers and young members, but are always keen to recruit more. We in Central Glamorgan believe that ‘alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.’
A message from our County Commissioner
On behalf of GGCG it is my pleasure to welcome you all to our website, newly updated and ready for your use!
It is my privilege and pleasure to lead members in 9 Divisions of GGCG. Many thanks to over 550 volunteers, who give their time freely to enable us to offer an exciting and relevant programme, in a safe girl only space, to 2500 girls and young women from ages five to twenty five.
During their time with Girlguiding our membership will have provided young women and girls with many opportunities to grow and develop, ready to take their place as confident, caring active members of their wider community.
This could not happen without the support given by their leaders and I would like to record my personal thanks to all our volunteers for the way in which they selflessly work to help shape the lives of the young women of the future.
GGCG belongs to a movement which is constantly changing and updating to meet the needs of today’s girls, whilst preserving the values that have made Girlguiding the largest organisation for girls and young women in the UK.
I invite you to use our website, find out about our County and the events planned for this year.
Caroline Harries, County Commissioner Girlguiding Central Glamorgan.
