WE DISCOVER WE GROW
A Warm Welcome to Central Glamorgan's Girlguiding Website...
Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is part of the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Throughout our County, we build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations to achieve their dreams. We give them the opportunity to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good. We provide them with the space to have fun.
Offering them exciting activities and the chance to make lifelong friends. You will find us in local communities, helping to give girls a head start in life and encouraging them to be happy, self-confident, and curious about the world they live in.
With over 2,500 members in Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is a thriving organisation, supported by around 500 adult volunteers. Girlguiding Central Glamorgan is a County that has 9 divisions, from Merthyr in the north to Porthcawl in the south.
We are enormously proud of our members in Central Glamorgan who belong to the family of guiding both in the UK and abroad - involving 10 million females around the world. We offer members the opportunity for adventures and fun – through weekly meetings, camps, holidays, and trips, or attending bespoke events run by the county.
Girlguiding Central Glamorgan offers girls and young women quality girl-led guiding opportunities, presenting challenge and adventure, which develop their potential and enable them to make a positive contribution to their community and beyond.
A message from our County Commissioner
On behalf of GGCG it is my pleasure to welcome you all to our website, newly updated and ready for your use!
It is my privilege and pleasure to lead members in 9 Divisions of GGCG. Many thanks to over 550 volunteers, who give their time freely to enable us to offer an exciting and relevant programme, in a safe girl only space, to 2500 girls and young women from ages five to twenty five.
During their time with Girlguiding our membership will have provided young women and girls with many opportunities to grow and develop, ready to take their place as confident, caring active members of their wider community.
This could not happen without the support given by their leaders and I would like to record my personal thanks to all our volunteers for the way in which they selflessly work to help shape the lives of the young women of the future.
GGCG belongs to a movement which is constantly changing and updating to meet the needs of today’s girls, whilst preserving the values that have made Girlguiding the largest organisation for girls and young women in the UK.
I invite you to use our website, find out about our County and the events planned for this year.
Caroline Harries, County Commissioner Girlguiding Central Glamorgan.
